Mechanical Engineer I
Job Summary / Objective :
The mechanical engineer will take a project from the conceptual stage through completion, factoring in budgetary and operational considerations.
Performs initial and ongoing design reviews. Identifies process deficiencies and develops solutions to improve. Works with Sales and Operations to develop new prototypes;
heavily involved in the quoting process of potential orders / inquiries.
Essential Job Functions :

Provide cost and lead time estimates as well as technical information for customers in the form of quotes and project proposals.
Translate the design information into manufacturing information in the form of routings via ERP, models and drawings via SolidWorks, and various niche software applications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification.
Provide manufacturing support, from small changes to part design to various projects like leading the design of automated process equipment.
Technical interface with maintenance and employees.
Support the Engineering Department's efforts to continuously improve processes.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, mechanical preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, 2D & 3D Design. Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
SAP experience is preferred.
Project Management experience
Handling proposals; performing quotes and pricing.
Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
