Senior/Staff SOC Verification & Validation Engineer - Dojo (Austin)

The Autopilot hardware team is looking for a SOC Engineer who will be responsible for pre-silicon RTL verification, Post Silicon Validation as well as Systems testing. The role involves being hands on from the early Pre-Silicon Verification through Post Silicon Validation as well as System development and deployment of large Machine Learning clusters in hyper scale Data Centers. Your overarching goal will be to push the boundaries of Tesla hardware to achieve peak performance and usability for our AI training needs.

• Work on Silicon development, testing and deployment for large datacenter based systems


• Define and review verification & systems test plans.


• Verify design functionality and test coverage.


• Develop test environments, scoreboards, regressions, tools, infrastructure, and methodology.


• Review and aid in developing the design architecture and specification.


• Functional bring up and debug on various platforms and tools.


• Interact with cross functional teams and work on multiple domains spanning verification with UVM, validation with C and Python.


• Write system level Software and Firmware for microprocessors and microcontrollers


• Master's/Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science with 5-10 years of work experience in a similar position verifying, and validating complex hardware systems.


• Post Silicon Bring Up & Validation Experience on complex SOC


• Solid programming skills in C/C , Verilog, System Verilog, UVM, assembly, Perl/Python.


• Proficient in debugging complex SOC or CPU core designs.


• Deep knowledge of advanced computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts.


• Experience with writing directed and random test cases.


• Experience with design verification and validation methodologies and strategies.


• Experience with power and performance concepts including UPF based simulations.


• Experience in Software and Firmware development on microcontrollers and microprocessors.


• Good communication skills, and a team player.


• Able to work independently in a fast-paced team and environment.

Desired Requirements:

• Experience with High Speed Serializers/Deserializers(Serdes) based ICs is a plus


• Understanding of DFT and Post Silicon process on a tester is a plus


• Deep knowledge of system architecture including CPU, GPU, memory sub-system, peripherals, bus protocols, CSRs, etc.


• Experience with integrating and verifying clock, reset, power management and boot sequences.


• FPGA experience is a plus.


• Experience in working with javascript, Node.js, configuration management and infrastructure deployment tools like Ansible
